Ok Kanmani Movie Review

Ok Kanmani Movie Review

OK Kanmani the much awaited Tamil movie by Mani Ratnam entertain you with music but not with story. OKK starred by Dulqar Salman and Nithya Menon give you a treat by the duo’s acting. But disappoint you with a damp storyline from Mani Ratnam; even though it catch some glimpses of today’s society.

Aadi (Dulqar) is a game developer living in Mumbai. Currently staying with a senior colleague of his brother. His dream is to go to USA. Where as Tara ( Nithya) is the sole daughter of a filthy rich business woman. Her father is no more. Tara who work as a creative artist decided not to marry at the age of seven after seeing the divorce of her parents.

Tara and Aadi meet up accidentally in Mumbai. Both like each other and decides to live together as they don’t believe in the institution of Marriage. Rest of the movie show what happens next and what changes will happen to them and people around as they get to know each other more and more. Whether their previous ambitious hold ground in changings state of relationships.

Ganapati (Prakash Raj) and Bhavani with whom the young couple stay play a crucial role in their lives and vice versa.

This movie is a real musical with touching lyrics. And we don’t have words to describe the music composed by AR Rahman for this movie.

Also visuals presented by PC Sreeram are also so vivid that they give you a good feel.

Story lacks any serious conflicts and moments of real emotions. As you see the lead actors are just in an open relation who cares for what’s gonna happen next. And there is rarely any elements of surprise in the whole movie. Yet the lead pair is a delight to watch from Ustad Hotel to OKK. And I think 100 days of love something more than OKK.

Prakash Raj put up a wonderful performance. He play a good husband -a role model to Aadi. And his character is one of the most realistic in the film – a friend who is more influential on youngsters than their own parents.

Don’t go to watch a Mani Ratnam Romantic Drama. You may go to enjoy the AR Rahman musical.
